The SBC coordinator will coordinate and manage implementation of the PSIU’s Social Behavioral Change (SBC) and health system strengthening interventions. S/He will provide technical coordination, support, and quality control on PSIU’s demand creation and health system strengthening interventions.

S/He will harness learning, facilitate iteration, and facilitate adaptation of interventions to implement cutting edge interventions to promote sustained desired behaviors among target audiences for PSIU health intervention areas.


Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in public health, Communications, Humanities, Midwifery, and Nursing.
  2. Master's degree in public health or communications is an added advantage.
  3. Progressively increasing management and technical responsibility in SRH implementation.
  4. Demonstrated understanding and application of technical principles and concepts in social and behavior change that catalyzes sustained community action.
  5. Experience in utilizing user-centered approaches to develop and implement innovative and effective behavior change or marketing solutions.
  6. Demonstrated capacity to lead the collection, analysis and use of data and information from a broad range of sources to ensure the development and execution of implementation approaches, messages, and tools.
  7. Experience and skills in networking and relations with peer organizations.

  1. Lead the implementation and tracking of the self-care service delivery prototypes and demand creation approaches within the public and private sector.
  2. Utilize established mechanisms to review data periodically to support evidence-based decision making and adaptive implementation to improve project performance and sustainability. Documentation of key learnings and evidence that will add to the knowledge base on DMPA-SC for self-injection and SBC interventions.
  3. Supervise utilization of tools and systems for the implementation of PSIU SRH programs in health system strengthening and demand creation. This will involve continuous monitoring of adherence to approved standard operational procedures and protocols by participating facilities and providers; and develop action plans to address the gaps.
  4. Oversee trainings and support supervision of health providers in DMPA-SC Self injection as well counselling for choice and building empathy for clients to support women to self-inject across the different delivery channels at the public and private facilities.
  5. Provide overall supervision and technical guidance to SBC officers through on-job training and monitor application of knowledge and skills towards improving quality of services and responsive SBC interventions.
  6. Support the field team to plan, forecast, order and account for the health commodities and equipment in the support private and public facilities.
  7. Lead the development of the SBC materials and content responsive to SBC interventions that meet project objectives in alignment with donor deliverables.
  8. Establish and maintain strategic relations, linkages and collaboration with district local governments, relevant implementing partners and stakeholders and support participating facilities to develop and maintain operational partnerships & networks within the districts of operation.
  9. Participate and represent PSIU in relevant coordination platforms, thematic committees / technical groups and in other relevant fora.
  10. Ensure comprehensive, high quality and timely reporting of all the interventions as per donor requirements.
  11. Monitor all SBC/program related budgets and work plans and ensure optimal burn rates and timely activity implementation.
